New module: Workout
In this update, we are taking another step towards what we want Habits to be in the future, bringing a new dedicated module: Gym. But before we talk about what the new feature offers, we want to share the philosophy behind how we created it.
The whole world today suffers from a distortion of its own image, driven by social media. The value ends up being showing others what you did, and not what you really achieved.
Every detail of this new module was designed to keep you focused on what really matters: your real and silent progress.
Habits is committed to being an analytical, informative, and distraction-free environment, made for those who want to build real discipline.
Your Workout
To help during your exercise, the Active Workout allows you to log your sets, reps, weight, and rest time. The idea was to create something simple and fast to fill out during the session.
If you need to use your phone in the middle of a rest or check another habit, the workout keeps running in the background in a Mini-Player at the bottom of the screen, so you don't lose track of time.
Routines
The new module allows you to configure your workouts exactly the way you or your trainer planned:
- Saved Templates: You can create and save your own training splits (A, B, C...) to make it easier when going to the gym.
- Custom Exercises: If you can't find an exercise in our database, you can create Custom Exercises on the fly, adapting the app to your use.
Intelligence and Deep Analytics
Tracking your evolution is part of the process, and the app helps you with that in a simple way:
- Complete Statistics: After your workout, you have access to several insights and graphs regarding your performance, weight, and volume. If your workout is very specific and you prefer something straightforward, you can disable these features at any time.
Everything was designed to fit any type of workout or goal you might have.
Your Evolution Diary: The Normal Habit Screen
With all this Gym power, it is very important to remember that the new screen is your execution engine, but the Common Screen of your habit (the one you already know) remains the soul of your diary and the main center of your evolution!
Even using the Gym feature to log heavy training, do not forget to access the normal daily view of your Gym habit to:
- Evolution Photos: It's on the classic screen that you save those post-workout mirror photos, building a fantastic comparative gallery over the months.
- Body Metrics: Use the standard habit space to supply your secondary metrics (current fasting weight, body fat percentage, waist and arm measurements).
- Notes and Diary: Leg day yielded less because sleep wasn't good? The normal diary is made exactly to leave these subjective evaluations about the process.
The two experiences work together: one records what you did with the weight, the other records what your body reflects from it.
And much more...
We also added several other things in this update, such as support for more languages, options to export data, and various UI and performance improvements.
